POLL: What Westworld-esque Shows Should We Be Watching?

Let’s make the wait for season two a little more bearable

Kevin Spacey as Frank Underwood in Netflix's House of Cards

2018 is, of course, a long, long wait for Westworld’s second season – that’s the bad news. The good news is that there’s plenty of other high-quality television shows to be watching in the interim.

Now it’s your job to help inform all your fellow Westworld fans just what those series are.

For this week’s community poll, we’re going to do things a little differently: rather than us listing a pre-selected group of options and having you all vote on them, we’re going to leave the fields wide open for your input. Add your favorite show – it doesn’t have to be sci-fi or, even, on HBO, but it does have to feature the same level of polish – vote on which one you think is best, and then share your reasoning for your selection(s) in the comments section below.

Let’s get started – there’s a lot of TV out there waiting to be consumed!

Results from our previous poll

Last week, we wanted to know Which Character Had the Best Twist from Westworld’s First Season? Bernard Lowe’s (Jeffrey Wright) being a host was the clear favorite here, earning 41% of the vote. Dr. Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins) wanting to free all the androids (27%), William (Jimmi Simpson) being the Man in Black (18%), and Dolores Abernathy (Evan Rachel Wood) being the mysterious Wyatt (11%) all were pretty far behind.

Coming in a distant last was poor Maeve Millay (Thandie Newton) going off-script to find her “daughter” – that only got 2%, which was the equivalent of just two votes. Poor Maeve.

  1. If it’s twists and plots within plots that you want, I strongly suggest Sherlock.

It was getting a bit too twisty for my taste in the end, but still, what a show. Superb actors, awesome cinematography, brilliant dialog and it barely ever failed to surprise me. And the stakes are always high. It’s very Westworldy in that way.
