Westworld Wins Art Directors’ Guild Award

It’s about time

After many nominations for its inaugural season, Westworld has finally won an award, the Art Directors’ Guild Award for Period or Fantasy Television Series.

The competition it went against actually looks pretty familiar, by this point in the awards seasons: Netflix’s The Crown and Stranger Things, Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle, and HBO’s Game of Thrones. The episode that actually did the honors for Westworld was the pilot, whose production designer was Nathan Crowley.

Our congratulations to showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, and we look forward to seeing how next year’s season two fares.

Do you think that Westworld should have lost to one of the other shows on the list? Let us know in the comments below.
