We have some good news and bad news for you.
First, the good news: Entertainment Weekly has the scoop on the digital HD release date for Westworld’s first season, which is Monday, March 6 (that’s right around the corner!). Even better, the site has an exclusive first-look at the release’s bonus content in the form of two short-but-sweet teasers.
Now for the bad news. The special features – which feature “the cast, creators, and producers going inside the making of the series” – only amount to a grand total of one hour. What’s more, there is no word as of yet on when the physical copies (in either Blu-ray or standard DVD variety) will hit store shelves, or whether these will sport more in the extras department – though one can certainly hope, especially in the way of director and, particularly, showrunner commentaries (Westworld features some of the prettiest cinematography on television, so gleaning a bit of insight into how everything was conceived and then executed would be most welcome).
Perhaps we’re just splitting synthetic hairs here; any new release is certainly most welcome news, and, besides, digital HD releases aren’t necessarily known for their robust collections of bonus materials.
