I was expecting a few teases and an entertaining round of interviews out of today’s Westworld panel at San Diego Comic Con, but the showrunners have done us a major solid and dropped an amazing new trailer for season 2!
Look out, humans, because the hosts are on the warpath, set to the tune of the darkly fitting “I’ve Gotta Be Me.” My favorite part? The utter delight of the Man in Black, who got everything he wanted when he sought out the Maze. But will he be happy after season 2? I can’t wait to find out!
We’ll be back with more analysis of the trailer later!
OMG, Dolores and Teddy on the warpath!!! 😀
And Maeve taking Sizemore hostage (or so I choose to believe) 😀

And just before that final close up of the Man in Black, there’s a scene with Benard in a car and in front of him…. Stubbs! Did I miss it, has there been a confirmation that he’ll be back? Cause there certainly has been one now. 🙂 I guess this bodes well for Elsie, too. 🙂

Rodent,
Is that actually Elsie sitting behind Bernard in the same shot? Maybe wishful thinking on my part, but it *could* have been her. Which, if true and considering Bernard is a host and Stubbs (and Elsie?) are presumably humans, implies they have an interesting and non-obvious storyline of their own…

I had a feeling that a fan report that the filming started back in late June was false, because everything the cast has been saying pointed out to July.
TVLine says “The drama has been shooting for one week” and I believe it.

ManWithNoName,
Can’t tell on the phone who the other two people in the car are. Will have to watch it on bigger screen when I come home. I’d love one of them to be Elsie!

Rodent,
Having closely rewatched the trailer about 20 times in the past hour, I don’t actually think that is Elsie now (hair/shape of face are wrong imho), although it still looks like Stubbs to me. Which is kind of a bummer to me, because I’d always kind of assumed Elsie wasn’t really dead, in spite of the evidence, but now I’m not so sure… 🙁
In terms of story, of course nobody apart from Ford and Maeve’s little crew knows that Bernard isn’t human, so it occurs to me he may be trying to fool the Delos security goons there, either in order to infiltrate the mainland or perhaps leading them into some sort of trap.

Hmmm…Judging from that preview, I predict the some Hosts will join the Human contingent (ex. Bernard, Maeve) against Dolores’ Robot Revolt…And I predict William/The Man in Black will, in fact, eventually turn against humanity.

Chris,
The reports are coming directly from the people who live around the Melody Ranch set. Legally Westworld/HBO is required to post notices and send them mail informing them of certain filming activity.
