Emmy nominated Westworld star Evan Rachel Wood (Dolores) might actually transcend the space-time continuum and operate on a 30 hour day. Along with starring in HBO’s Wild West mega-show and promoting her new movie A Worthy Companion, the fearless actress has also found time to give multiple interviews leading up to this Sunday’s Emmys. And, oh yeah, she’s probably also preparing for said Emmys on top of everything else.
Wood’s latest interview comes courtesy of Vulture. After discussing Wood’s latest movie (title mentioned above), the interviewer couldn’t help but ask the actress a series of questions about Westworld that sparked some insightful answers about season one and the upcoming season two.
When asked if the actress can give any hints whatsoever about the show’s second season, Wood responded with the following:
“It’s twice as ambitious. I’ll try to say the things the showrunners have said, so I know it’s okay. I think somebody asked Jonathan Nolan if we were going to see other worlds this season, or how many worlds we would see, and he said, ‘More than one?’ So there’s that little tidbit.”
While there is no absolute confirmation that we will be seeing multiple worlds in the Delos-owned fantasy park next season, or which worlds we may be introduced to, there have been more than a few hints that point to the fact that Westworld won’t be the only playground we’ll be visiting. And this latest ‘tidbit’ of knowledge certainly adds more fuel to that fire.
Fans and interviewers alike also can’t get over the badassery that is Dolores riding a galloping horse through a field while shooting a rifle in season two’s teaser trailer that dropped during San Diego Comic Con (posted below for your viewing pleasure). Luckily for Wood, she already had some practice on horseback prior to saddling up for that scene:
“I’ve ridden before, and I’ve ridden bareback, and when you ride, you’re already riding no hands anyway, but this is — it was a whole other level! I remember just kind of staying calm all day, and when it was over and we did it I was like, ‘Great, I’m going to go have a panic attack and get on my knees and thank God I’m still here!’ But they’re so safe on that show, the wranglers are incredible and the horses so well-trained that it was one of the cooler things I’ve gotten to do in my life. So much fun. And not fake.”
Wood goes on to chat about her Emmy nomination, how she’s already theorizing about season two’s twists, and what it was like apologizing to Anthony Hopkins (Dr. Ford) before shooting him in the head in season one’s finale. Check out her entire interview, and let us know what you think!
