Westworld addicts and video gamers rejoice!
According to Engadget, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced a Westworld mobile game, coming soon to a phone or tablet near you. Currently in development, the game is being produced by Behavior Interactive in association with Kilter Films (Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy‘s production company behind the show).
The game is being teased on Westworld’s official website, delosincorporated.com, as “a brand new training mobule” that gamers will be required to complete before becoming “a full-time hire” of Delos. The full teaser message reads as follows:
The DPTS [Delos Park Training Simulation] is a high-fidelity simulation program that allows each Trainee the opportunity to learn the full suite of Westworld operations through virtual management. You will be tasked with successfully running your own miniature Westworld – from the manufacture and care of hosts in the lab, to managing guest satisfaction in the park.
The DPTS takes advantage of Delos’ proprietary software and extensive algorithmic power to provide a highly-detailed model of the park and the people that make it run, developed with a seamless immersion in mind. Prove yourself capable at the controls and you’ll be just fine here.
As comforting as the message seems in terms of maintaining the composure of the park, something tells me the controls they speak of won’t be so easy to handle…
While the game does not yet have a release date, a spokesperson has confirmed that it is currently being tested in limited release, so it probably isn’t too far off from being released wide. Perhaps it will coincide with the premiere of the show’s second season?
What do you think of the prospect of running your own Westworld park? Do you plan on giving it a try? Let us know!
