The marketing campaign for Westworld‘s first season included the clever site discoverwestworld.com. Disguised as a vacation planning site for the Westworld park, users could book a pretend stay, learn more about park locations and characters, and even chat with a “guest services host,” Aeden. It didn’t take long for fans to discover that – much like the show itself – the site was filled with hidden clues and easter eggs that rewarded determined investigation.
The 21st Annual Webby Awards has recognized the genius of this site by nominating it in the category of Best Advertising, Media, & PR Website/Media & Entertainment. It won’t be an easy road to victory, however, as it has some stiff competition. Here are the other nominees:
