As production continues on Westworld‘s third season, we have received another cast member announcement! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Vincent Cassel has been added to the series in a key role.
Sources say Cassel will play a villain and will be a series regular for season three. The French actor is a César Award winner (Best Actor for Mesrine Part 1: Killer Instinct and Mesrine Part 2: Public Enemy #1). Other previous credits include Jason Bourne, Black Swan, and Ocean’s Twelve/Thirteen.
Showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy issued a joint statement, saying, “We’re incredibly excited to work with Vincent Cassel. We’ve been longtime fans of his and are thrilled for him to join the Westworld team.” This will be Cassel’s first regular role on American television.
Will he be the main villain next season, or will the Man in Black return? Speculate away in the comments!
Well, you don’t cast an actor like that in a small part, so I’d imagine we’ll be seeing quite a bit of him in S3. Beyond that, I can only wildly speculate. I like to think we’ll eventually see Medievalworld and Romanworld, as featured in the original movie, and I think Cassel would look just the thing in either a monk’s cowl or one of those chainmail hoodies. ;D
